Welcome

Patrice Johnson is a twenty-five year veteran of the garment district. She started out in the early 80’s as a cutter from a prom gown company. In three years she worked her way up to assistant pattern maker. She remembers her mentor telling her, “You’ll always have a job if you can make patterns and know production.” So that became her new love.

Since then, Patrice has dedicated her life to creating patterns that fit. Patrice says, “Style is important but…Fit is first priority in a great garment.” “Next is affordability. If a customer can’t afford your garment it won’t sell!” So her next quest became cost effective production. She traveled from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Miami, Dominican Republic, Haiti, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China in search of the best factories. Style, fit, cost and quality are a recipe to a successful clothing line.

Over the years her designs and patterns have been featured on everyone from Oprah to Christina Aguilera. Her attributes in the retail sector include stores like J.C. Penney, The Limited, Lane Bryant, Cato stores, Federated Stores, (now Macy’s Corp.),  and countless boutiques in the U.S. and abroad. In the 90’s she took on the maternity industry. She met it with great success. Within six months of starting the company, she landed accounts with J.C. Penney, Burlington Coat Factory and maternity boutiques nationwide. Her work was seen in several top magazines. In the new millennium Patrice took on the Junior market place and became the number one accessory vendor for Delia’s Catalog Division and one of the top vendors for Urban Outfitters Men’s and Ladies Division. With those accounts under her belt, she captured most of Junior chains and catalog companies. She later merchandised for Sean John boys, J-Lo girls, Phat Farm, Baby Phat, and Champion. Patrice learned to become one with the consumer. “What is selling? Why is it selling?” These are the questions the competitive designer must ask themselves. Patrice and her talented team are well rounded and well versed in one of the toughest industries in the world.

Imagineering Style helps designers worldwide by, producing fashion shows and special events, consulting, sales, domestic and overseas productions, and teaching seminars. Patrice is once again a pioneer in her industry by creating the first online pattern making service ever.
